Selçuk Esenyel Took Part in BBS Grain 2025 as a Speaker
We are proud to share that Selçuk Esenyel, Founding Partner of Esenyel Partners, took part in BBS Grain 2025 as the one of event speakers.
The “Logistics Problems” panel, moderated by Pelin Gezicioğlu, brought together industry leaders to discuss critical logistical and legal challenges in the grain and shipping sectors.
Mr. Esenyel delivered a speech addressing legal and commercial risks in international trade, with a particular focus on operational and regulatory challenges relevant to regional logistics.
He examined a range of critical topics, including local logistics issues in Turkey, the enforcement of environmental pollution fines, and the complexities of payment disputes and liability.
Emphasizing the importance of due diligence, he highlighted the need for comprehensive Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and questioned whether a bank SWIFT receipt alone is sufficient to prove payment.
He also addressed the allocation of responsibility in cases of delay, the necessity of proper counterparty checks, and the legal implications when a party becomes sanctioned after contract execution.
His insights underscored the growing importance of proactive legal strategies and strong compliance frameworks to
support cross-border cooperation and contractual integrity.
We thank the Balkans & Black Sea Forum for organizing this timely and impactful event and for fostering dialogue on the legal, logistical, and economic challenges shaping the future of international agri-trade.
