Esenyel Partners Represents Turkey in the BIMCO Contracts and Documentation Committee

The Contracts and Documentation Committee, one of the three main committees of the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), held another of its periodic meetings.

The meeting, attended by shipowners, legal experts, chartering specialists, and key stakeholders from the global maritime industry, was held online. Among the committee members was Selçuk Esenyel, Founding Partner of Esenyel Partners, who was appointed as the representative from Turkey.

The meeting discussed detailed projects related to the maritime and renewable energy sectors currently on the committee’s agenda, addressing topics such as biofuels and CO₂. The CO₂TIME agreement, which concerns a charter party for the carriage of CO₂, was reviewed by the committee members. In addition, a regulation introducing standard terms related to methanol fuels was submitted for approval.

The BIMCO Contracts and Documentation Committee, which plays a key role in establishing new standards to meet the evolving demands of the maritime industry, will hold its next meetings in the coming days.
