The team at Esenyel & Partners provided training on maritime law to the ‘Iraqi State Company for Maritime Transport’ under the Ministry of Transport of Iraq. The two-day training sessions were held at the Ekol Maritime Training Center.
The first day of the training, conducted by our lawyers Selcan Koçak and Muhammet Hamza Ünal, focused on contracts in comparative law and highlighted important considerations in Turkish law regarding contracts. On the second day, topics covered included the Freight Contract, Charter Party and its types, Bill of Lading, and other maritime transport documents from the perspective of both Turkish and English law, using practical examples.

Av. Selcan Koçak and Av. Muhammet Hamza Ünal shared not only legal insights but also practical experiences from their work with colleagues from the neighboring country.

At the end of the program, the lawyers and maritime law experts from Iraq who traveled to Turkey for the training were presented with participation certificates approved by the Ekol Maritime Training Center.
