In the International Agreements section of the Official Gazette No. 32042, dated December 13, 2022, the “Decision on the Approval of the Attached Amendments to the Annexes of the 1988 Protocol Relating to the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea” (Decision No: 6536) was published.

In summary, the Decision includes:

Regulations concerning the safety of cargo and passenger ships (certificates and their annexes) have been made more detailed, and additional equipment and apparatus required on board have been specified.
Updates and modifications regarding navigation equipment and systems have been introduced, along with amendments to survey and certification procedures related to such equipment.
Relevant surveys conducted by the flag state and/or authorized classification societies will be reviewed and certified in light of these amendments.
