The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Directorate General of Maritime Affairs, has outlined the measures to be taken to ensure that Turkish-flagged ships are prepared for port state control (PSC) inspections.
Accordingly, for ships falling under the “Priority I (PI)” inspection interval in the Paris MoU, the following steps are required for PSC inspections within the Paris MoU framework:
Ensuring that the company’s technical personnel (DPA/Inspector) accompany the inspection, and making necessary preparations for visa and other procedures in advance.
Before the PSC inspection, the ship’s classification society should contact the Administration and, as per the instructions given, board the ship to fill out the control list provided with the relevant parties and send it to the Ministry via gemi.denetim@uab.gov.tr.
